Royal Palms Spirits Clerk Cited for Selling Alcohol to a Minor

The clerk faces a minimum fine of $250.

Carlsbad Police cited a clerk Friday for selling alcohol to a minor.

The clerk—Scott Christianson, 30—was arrested during a decoy operation where minors attempted to purchase alcohol, according to a police report. The operation, supervised by Carlsbad Police and investigators from California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), took place at 24 retail licensees in Carlsbad.

Christianson faces a minimum fine of $250 and/or 24-32 hours of community service for a first violation. ABC will also take action against the business that may include a fine, a suspension of the license, or the permanent revocation of the license.
