Sheriff's Helicopter Used to Find Girl Who Walked a Block Away From Home

Carlsbad Police were notified at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday that a 7-year-old was missing.

If you live in the La Costa area, you may have heard a Sheriff helicopter Tuesday night reporting that a 7-year-old girl was missing.

According to Carlsbad Police public information officer Jodee Sasway, the little girl reportedly walked away from the 2300 block of Caringa Way prompting a search. 

At 7:16 p.m. the child was found just a block away on the 2300 block of Altisma Way, said Sasway who noted the child walked away on her own volition.

"As with any missing child, every available police unit was involved including Astrea, the Sheriff’s helicopter," explained Sasway.
