State Street Building Evacuated After Smoke Detected

Dispatch said there was not an actual fire, but fire crews were called out to investigate.

Firefighters were called to 2551 State St. just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a person at the building at that time, "about a dozen people were evacuated and there was some smoke, it smelled like something was burning, like a water heater."

Emergency personnel found no fire and left the scene about a half hour later.
