Teens Reportedly Punch Younger Trick-or-Treaters and Steal Their Candy

Carlsbad Police are treating the case as a strong arm robbery.

Halloween night, an 11-year-old and 12-year-old male out trick-or-treating in Carlsbad were punched in the throat and chest by teens demanding their candy, according to .

The robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Corvidae Street, police say. The victims told police they were approached by teens between the ages of 16 and 18 who exited a car and demanded they hand over their candy.

The pre-teens turned and walked away, but the suspects followed them and punched them. Police say the suspects then took the bags of candy and returned to the car where their driver was waiting.

The suspects were both described as wearing all black clothing. One was described as 6 foot and 190 pounds. Police say he was wearing a clown mask with a purple mohawk. The other suspect was described as 6 foot 2 inches and weighing 200 pounds with a ski mask covering his face. There was no description of the driver. The car is described as an older, four-door gray vehicle.
