The Carlsbad Police Blotter

A look at Carlsbad's most recent police activity.

The following items are according to publicly available Carlsbad police arrest reports and San Diego County Sheriff's Department arrest logs. Unless otherwise noted, suspects were booked into County Jail in Vista.


A 20-year-old Carlsbad man was arrested on suspicion of giving false information to a peace officer in the 3800 block of San Ramon Drive in Oceanside on Aug. 17. Keith Andrew Dhondt was also arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness and battery, according to police records.

James Lawrence Bruno, 24, of Carlsbad, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft in the 1900 block of Apple Street in Oceanside on Aug. 16. Jail records show two other pending felony allegations of burglary and possessing a stolen vehicle. He remains jailed on $25,000 bail pending an Aug. 29 court appearance.

Police took Amber Ray Callaway, 31, into custody on suspicion of resisting arrest in the 2100 block of Alga Road on Aug. 21. Jail records show she remains in custody with bail set at $30,000 for the resisting allegation, in addition to an allegation of public drunkenness. She was scheduled to appear in court on the morning of Aug. 23.

Richard Joseph Torres, 41, was arrested on suspicion of robbery in the 3200 block of Harding Street on Aug. 20. Jail records show his bail is set at $100,000 pending an Aug. 23 arraignment date.

John Ivan Zapien, 37, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance in the 3200 block of Harding Street on Aug. 23.

A 34-year-old Escondido woman was arrested Aug. 18 on an outstanding no-bail warrant by Carlsbad police in the 2200 block of Vua Cascabec in Escondido. Giuliana Lisa Bosco is being held in County Jail in Vista on four felony burglary charges pending an Aug. 25 court appearance, according to jail records.

Police arrested Jose Raul Rodriguez, 18, of Encinitas, on suspicion of commercial burglary in the 2500 block of El Camino Real on the afternoon of Aug. 18. Bail was set at $25,000.

Regina Diane Lura, 28, of Oceanside was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 5100 block of El Camino Real on the afternoon of Aug. 18.
