Latest Carlsbad Investigations and Arrests

A look at the Carlsbad Police Department's most recent arrest log.

Based upon publicly available police records. Unless otherwise noted, suspects were booked into County Jail in Vista.

Carlsbad police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that snarled traffic and left a person whose name was not immediately available, hospitalized around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8. One of the vehicles involved crashed into a traffic control cabinet just off the street at the intersection, halting the operation of the lights.
An unidentified driver of one of the vehicles was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, an officer on the scene said. Photo from the scene are attached to this article.

Loria Ann Hepfner, 53, of Carlsbad, was arrested in the 9800 block of Genessee Avenue in La Jolla on suspicion of drunken driving with injuries shortly before 11 p.m. Nov. 5. The incident was reported as occurring shortly before 10 p.m. at El Camino Real and Camino Villa Roble.

Police arrested Donald Scott Glidden, 55, of Carlsbad, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery shortly at 6:12 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 4000 block of Sunnyhill Drive.

Tamisha Lanetta Stokes, 19, of Oceanside, was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary after police were called to , 2561 El Camino Real, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

Police arrested Jared James Drader, 40, on suspicion of injuring an unidentified victim in the 3500 block of Corte Yolanda around 10 p.m. on Oct. 28. The arrest was reported in the , 2560 Orion Way on Nov. 3 at 3:40 p.m. Bail was set at $25,000.

A 26-year-old man identified as Jacob Fritts, 26, of Carlsbad, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 900 block of Tamarack Avenue at 2:38 p.m. Nov. 3.

Mauro Antonio Cira, 20, of San Marcos, was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 11:20 p.m. Nov. 3 at Hidden Valley Road and Beacon Bay Drive.

George "Hefty" Molina, 29 of Carlsbad, was arrested on a parole hold at 9:20 p.m. Nov. 3. Jail records show he is not eligible for release.

Police arrested Phillip Steven Hyta, 48, of Oceanside, on suspicion of possessing a concealed weapon at Poinsettia Lane and Interstate 5 shortly after 6 p.m. Nov. 2. Bail was $2,500.

A 31-year-old man identified as Steven V. Schmidt of Oceanside, was arrested on suspicion of possessing concentrated cannabis shortly after 3 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 300 block of Carlsbad Village Drive. Bail was set at $3,000.
