Thompson Middle-Schooler Arrested For Allegedly Bringing Weapon On Campus

Eyewitnesses say the student was a boy who was led off campus in handcuffs.

A 13-year-old Thompson Middle School student was arrested at the campus without incident Friday afternoon for bringing a knife onto the school grounds.

According to Sgt. Robert Anderson of the Murrieta Police Department, the student “was in possession, which is against the law.”

Eyewitnesses say the student was a boy who was led off campus in handcuffs.

Anderson said the student will be prosecuted.

No one was hurt during the incident, the sergeant confirmed.

Due to age, the student’s identity will not be released.

Cat Valentine, you say the kid is actually not stupid enough to 'use' the knife; that he may have been carrying it because he was scared? There are better ways to handle his fear. If another kid were to bring a gun to school, his knife would be no match. On the other hand, what if the kid was scared and used his knife and really hurt an innocent person? My daughter is in the 6th grade at TMH. The school should have notified the parents via email. It's horrible that our kids have to be in such a fearful environment. Kids at this age know it would be the absolute wrong thing to do to bring a knife to school, especially in light of the CT incident.
