Two Men Injured in Car Crash

A Cobra sports car smashed into a tree on Tamarack Avenue late Friday Morning.

Two men were seriously injured in a single-car accident on Friday morning that left one victim trapped inside the Cobra sportscar and ejected the other.

Police said the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Tamarack Avenue and La Portalada Drive. The Cobra left the road and hit a tree.

Carlsbad Firefighters responded to the scene and removed the driver, who was trapped in the vehicle.

Both men were transported to Scripps La Jolla — the driver by helicopter and the passenger by a regular ambulance.

Carlsbad Police said they were not sure how serious both men’s injuries were or the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation. Neither man was identified.
