Allen, an Oceanside resident, was found stabbed to death Friday night near the intersection of Harding Street and Carol Place in Carlsbad. Police say he was knifed while walking to his car. Detectives identified Rocha, who alternated between homes in Carlsbad and Oceanside, as the alleged killer based on witness statements and clues at the scene of the slaying. Several people saw the stabbing occur but heard no argument or challenging statements beforehand, according to Sgt. Mickey Williams. "We're still trying to figure out the why,'' he said.
