City Officials Kick Off Pipeline Construction for Carlsbad's Desalination Plant

The desalination plant and pipeline are scheduled to be complete and operational in early 2016.

When completed, water produced at the desalination plant adjacent to the Encina Power Station in Carlsbad will be conveyed to the Water Authority’s water system via a 10-mile, large-diameter pipeline which will travel through the cities of San Marcos, Vista and Carlsbad.
