Give Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Input Online

You can provide input through an online survey available on the city website through March 8.

What do you like best about the City of Carlsbad’s parks and recreation programs and what would make them even better in the future?  You can provide input on these questions through an online survey available on the city website through March 8.

The survey is part of a city planning process designed to create a comprehensive parks and recreation action plan for the future.

“The Carlsbad community has always valued healthy outdoor lifestyles and strong social connections, and that’s what our parks and recreation services are all about,” said Mick Calarco, special projects manager for the city. “It’s important to hear from residents as we plan for the future to ensure we continue to meet their needs and expectations.”

The Parks & Recreation Department is developing an updated plan for future parks and recreation services to ensure resources are aligned with current and future trends, community values and the city’s changing demographics.

In addition to the online survey, the city held public meetings, interviews and focus groups with the public.  The city will also conduct a statistically valid mailed survey. “The needs assessment and resulting comprehensive plan will help us to develop a mix of parks, facilities, programs and services that addresses the needs of our community and enriches the lives of our residents today and for years to come,” said Calarco. The assessment and action plan are expected to be complete this fall.
