Goodbye Potholes, Hello Smooth Roads

Carlsbad officials are working to resurface roads. They say it is cheaper to maintain a road in good condition.

The City of Carlsbad is resurfacing a number of roads over the next few weeks as part of its annual pavement management program. Several neighborhoods in the northwest part of the city will be affected with roads either temporarily closed or the lanes reduced to one lane in each direction. Work hours for this project are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

According to the city of Carlsbad, it costs eight times as much to fix a road in bad condition than a road in good condition.
