Act Quick: Request a Free Ticket to the 57th Presidential Inauguration

It's first-come first-served for 198 constituents of the 49th Congressional District interested in attending Jan. 21, 2013, at the Nation's Capitol. As of Monday, 80 tickets had been given out.

Each congressional office is given 198 tickets to give out to constituents. Those wishing to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Barack Obama on Jan. 21, 2013, in Congressman Darrell Issa's district can request up to two tickets per household now through Dec. 5.

Issa's office told Patch Monday afternoon, "Tickets are given to constituents on a first come, first serve basis.  So far, we’ve received requests for about 80 tickets."

“The Presidential Inauguration is a historic event,” said Issa.  “The swearing-in ceremony celebrates the continuity or transition of government as determined by the decision and will of the American people.  Seeing it firsthand makes you really appreciate our constitutional government and the foresight of our Nation’s Founders.”
