Update: Snow Is No Longer Expected Friday Night; Possible Rain Countywide

A Pacific storm could bring rain to the mountains.

Update Nov. 11: As the Weather Service updated its forecast, snow and heavy rain were no longer expected.


Here's out earlier story based on their earlier predictions.

Southwest California may receive another lashing of rain late this week, with snow possible again in the mountains.

The National Weather Service reports that a storm is due to hit San Diego county late Friday night, bringing up to 5 inches of rain to mountain areas and up to 2 inches on the coast.

Snow may fall to 5,000 feet. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also likely, in the current outlook. Showers could linger into Saturday evening.

Slow drying and warming are expected as the storm moves east Sunday and Monday.

The Weather Service will continue to update its predictions and Patch will keep you posted.

I like the rain, but my dog doesn't -- she doesn't want to go out. Any tips on handling that? Should I send her to Phoenix?
