Weekend Recap: Employee Shot at Edwards San Marcos and Sewage Spill Enters Carlsbad

A shooting investigation was launched Friday night after a stray bullet shot through the lobby of Edwards movie theater and struck an employee in the arm. On Sunday, 3,000 gallons of sewage flowed from San Marcos towards Batiquitos Lagoon.

A bullet fired from the parking lot of Edwards San Marcos Stadium 18 at 1180 W. San Marcos Blvd frightened moviegoers and the community after it broke through a glass door of the movie theater's lobby and hit a female employee in the arm.

The victim, believed to have been hit at random, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Gang detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station responded and are conducting the investigation.
