Aviara Oaks Student Has a Smile on Her Face and a Song in Her Heart

This week's Whiz Kid is a "triple threat" on stage.

Elaina Davis is loaded with musical talent. She plays piano, sings, loves to dance and is only 8 years old.

“She has been playing piano for two years,” said Susan Daniel, Elaina’s mother. “She also has a wonderful voice and plans to audition for a production this summer.”

Elaina takes music lessons through California Music Studios, the same school where older sister Rachel developed her skills.

“Rachel plays piano, saxophone and clarinet and is in the theatre program at Carlsbad High School,” said Daniel. “She’s very supportive of Elaina, and they’re able to practice their songs together.”

Elaina recently performed in a winter recital at the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium next to the Dove Library. She played “Sea Chantey” by Nancy Faber on the piano.

Not only is the third-grader used to hitting high notes on stage, she’s also earning high grades at Aviara Oaks Elementary School. Elaina loves science and reading any book she can get her hands on about dogs.

“I would really love to be an animal trainer when I grow up,” said Elaina. “I love all animals.”

Her key to awesomeness?

“Help and love from my family.”
