Carlsbad Elementary School Students Perform Holiday Concert

Around 800 families descended on the La Costa Resort and Spa's Plaza for a holiday musical celebration put on by the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.

Holiday music comes in all shapes and sizes as proved by the nearly 200 elementary school children who sang and played their hearts out at La Costa Resort and Spa's Plaza Dec. 11 for the first annual .

All those budding musicians practiced weekly in music classes funded by the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. CEF funded classes for 5,000 elementary school students since September of 2009.

Denise Chapman, La Costa Resort and Spa's director of marketing, writes on the company's blog: "Little did we know that this first-time event would draw more than 800 local families! Performance highlights included the beginning clarinet group, and a cute performance from the choral group." Both are captured on the accompanying video.
