Carlsbad Resident Awarded $1,000 College Scholarship for Community Service

Noah Lizerbram of Carlsbad, California was awarded a $1,000 TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship from Charter One for his commitment to the community.

Lizerbram created YouthJamz, a nonprofit organization that provides music education to at-risk children locally and globally through community benefit concerts. Lizerbram held the organization’s fourth annual benefit concert this past May at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. He is using proceeds from the concert to establish a music program at Casa de Amparo, a nonprofit organization that treats and prevents child abuse and neglect in San Diego. Lizerbram used proceeds from the 2012 concert to purchase more than 300 instruments that were used to establish a music program at a school in India for more 220 children with Leprosy. He traveled to India to launch the program.

Lizerbram and 39 other winners are featured on the Charter One website and the Charter One Facebook page.
