CUSD Moves April 18 Meeting to Larger Location

The meeting to discuss closing Buena Vista and the facility that houses Carlsbad Village and Seaside Academies will now be held at the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Center instead of the district office.

Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. on April 18, 2012. The location has been changed from the District Office to the which is located just north of Carlsbad High School at 3557 Lancer Way.

According to District Superintendent John A. Roach, Ed.D., the location has been changed to accommodate all people who wish to attend. He states, “These schools are being considered not because of performance, which has been exemplary, but because of enrollment and finances.” He notes that , a Title I school which is celebrating 50 years of educating Carlsbad’s children, has been named a for its success in closing the achievement gap among different student groups.
