IPads to Help Instruct Kelly Kindergartners

An iPad Center was made possible through PTA funds and a private donation.

iPads are a hot commodity. Oprah declared the item her "most favorite thing" in 2010. In 2011 when the iPad 2 arrived in Carlsbad, waited more than 24 hours outside to get his hands on it.

Starting this fall, kindergarten students entering  will kick-start their education with an iPad center purchased through PTA funds, supplemented by a private donation. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes, “The new technology will help ignite the students’ love of learning and enable them to become critical thinkers.”

Kelly now joins in providing iPad access to kindergarten students to enhance reading fluency. In addition, Kelly students in grades four and five will participate in an iPad Learning Lab pilot program to support in-depth math lessons and academic standards in other curricular areas to meet the students’ individual needs.
