The following is a press release from Jenny Craig
On Wednesday, September 18, Jenny Craig hosted a check presentation to help fund the Jefferson Elementary School Garden program, which allows third through fifth graders who are members of the Jefferson Green Jaguars Garden Club to participate in weekly gardening activities during their recess time.
Leesa Eichberger, Jenny Craig’s Chief Marketing Officer, presented a check on behalf of Jenny Craig in the amount of $5,000 to help continue the school’s healthy eating extra-curricular program. The check was accepted by Jefferson Elementary Principal Chad Lund. Also in attendance for the presentation was Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall.
Following the check presentation, Eichberger handed out Jenny Craig gift bags to the members of the Jefferson Green Jaguars Garden Club.
The Jefferson Elementary School Garden program has a shared goal with Jenny Craig of educating the next generation about the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables. In 2011, Jenny Craig began a commitment to donate to the Jefferson Elementary School Garden program. The donation will continue to aid the Jefferson Gardens in their expansion of the grounds, fund new drip irrigation and supply various garden resources that can be shared with teachers in classrooms and garden helpers.
