Kelli Moors Retiring From CUSD School Board

Moors announced that she will retire from the Board effective September 2, 2013 due to a conflict of interest with her new employment position at a law firm.

The following is a press release from CUSD

Carlsbad Unified School District Board member Kelli Moors has announced that she will retire from the Board effective September 2, 2013. Trustee Moors, who has served on the Board since 2000, has accepted a position with the law firm Fagen, Friedman and Fulfrost.

Ms. Moors, whose position with Tri-City Medical Center was eliminated in March, has been pursuing employment opportunities since that time. Her new assignment with Fagen, Friedman and Fulfrost will preclude her from continuing to serve as a trustee due to the firm’s working relationship with CUSD and other public school districts throughout California.

In announcing this decision, Trustee Moors noted, “My twelve-plus years on the Carlsbad Unified School Board have been extremely gratifying. I will genuinely miss the fine staff and outstanding families of Carlsbad Unified.”

Board President Elisa Williamson expressed her appreciation for Trustee Moors’ contributions to Carlsbad’s schools. “Kelli Moors has been an outstanding Board member and leader in the community. We wish her well in her new endeavors. She will surely be missed.”
