Carlsbad residents will be attending the following schools: Bates College (Lewiston, Maine), Bentley University (Waltham, Mass.), Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Tech (Pasadena, Calif.), Columbia College, Chapman University (Orange, Calif.), George Washington University (Washington, D.C.), Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles), Notre Dame (South Bend, Ind.), Seattle University (Seattle), Stanford University (Stanford, Calif.), Texas Christian University (Forth Worth, Texas), UC Irvine, UCLA (2), UCSD, UC Riverside (Bioengineering), University of Chicago, University of Denver, University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, Wash.), University of Redlands (Redlands, Calif.), University of Southern California (2), University of Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tenn.) and Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA).
Many members of the class of 2013 were among Pacific Ridge’s founding seventh grade class and have had the unique opportunity to participate in the school’s growth since it’s opening in 2007. They have witnessed the increase in the size of the student body from 107 in 2007 to more than 500 in 2013, as well as the development of award-winning academic, arts, service learning and athletic programs. These students were also among the first group to use both the school’s energy-efficient high school building completed in 2010 and the state-of-the-art 35,236 sq. ft, Athletic Center, which opened in 2011.
The Pacific Ridge School curriculum exceeds requirements for college admissions.
In 2011, Pacific Ridge was granted a six-year term of accreditation (the longest term possible) with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges based on an extensive study of the school’s academic rigor and quality of instruction.
