Poinsettia Elementary School Parents Rallying to Save Art Program

A parent set up a donation webpage to raise $8,000 to keep art at Poinsettia every other week for all classes.

Poinsettia Elementary parent Laura Bodensteiner is spearheading a fundraising campaign to keep art at her daughter's school. So far, about $1,300 has been raised, but additional funds are needed in order to keep the art program alive.

The following is from the Save Art at Poinsettia website:

Do you know that there is NO funding for our Art Teacher for the 2013-2014 school year? Poinsettia has had an Art Teacher funded by a generous private parent donation for the past several years. However, that funding ran out with the conclusion of the 2012-2013 school year. If Art is important to you or your student, please donate to keep Art at Poinsettia!

Parents, family, friends, neighbors, businesses ~ Please help us save this important program. The students LOVE art class and Art Teacher Mrs. Clark. They will be so disappointed in the Fall to discover there is no Art Teacher.

• $8,000 is all it takes to keep Art at Poinsettia every other week for all classes.
     ~ if 80 people donated $100, we'd be there!
     ~ if 400 people donated $20, we'd be there!

• $16,000 will fund weekly Art for all classes.
~ Would your business like to contribute?
~ Do you know any Patrons of the Arts looking for a worthy cause?

• Mrs. Clark is applying for grants to help meet these goals.
~ Please send us any grant or funding opportunities that you know about. We would love to apply for them!

All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly toward funding the Art Program at Poinsettia. Without this money, Poinsettia students will not have Art next year. Please help keep this vital program alive at Poinsettia.

If you prefer to donate in person, please write your check to "Poinsettia PTA" and put "Poinsettia Art Fund" on the message line.
