Renovations Underway to Keep Up with St. Patrick Catholic School's Growing Enrollment

The private Carlsbad school experienced its highest enrollement this school year.

St. Patrick School, a parochial Catholic K-8 institution, has experienced its highest
enrollment of 480 students this school year. With the increasing number of students, a renovation plan has been put in place.

The St. Patrick community, of which the school is part, has begun phase one of its renovation plan this summer. The church is currently being remodeled, with the school soon to follow. The school’s new state of the art facilities will include 18 classrooms (K–8), restrooms and offices. A new lunch area, playground, sports fields
and additional parking will also be included. A St. Patrick preschool is also in discussion.

“Our school is very special,” said Maureen Moriarty, one of St. Patrick Catholic School’s two Kindergarten teachers. “From the
moment a child enters Kindergarten, we work to teach the importance
of charity. I encourage my students to bring in their dimes and
nickles for a collection that we then give to various missions. It is
very rewarding for them, as they begin to understand how they can
make a positive difference in the world.”
