Information Sessions

SCHS Principal Cesar Morales is hosting evening events for parents of current 8th and 9th grade students to determine which high school their student(s) will attend for the 2013-14 academic year. This decision will be declared in the month of January, 2013, during the District's Open Enrollment window.

  • The first hosted event at Calavera Hills Middle School on Thursday (11/15) and had just over 100 parents in attendance.
  • There are two upcoming evening events scheduled: Valley Middle School on Tuesday (11/27) and Aviara Oaks Middle School on Thursday (11/29), both events begin at 6 p.m.

This is all very nice for students and teachers in the new CUSD high school...all the teams, school colors, etc.....however, I can't help but wonder and be dismayed at the fact that there is all this money for a new high school and yet teachers' salary seems to be stagnant....As a substitute, it is extremely distressing that our pay hasn't gone up one cent in years. What does this all mean???

"What does this all mean?" And: Calif has not yet played its "ace-in-the-hole." State Govt owns a lot of valuable real estate that encompass 2 Govt University Systems (why not just one?) The Govt Universities steal customers from the private Universities, who are hopefully still financial viable. With way more college-educated waiters and waitresses than we need, the State should lease all of their universities (for just $10,000 per campus) to American Manufacturing endeavors, preferably luring them back to America from China. California will thrive, more people will be employed, more people will pay taxes, and those all-important substitute teachers will be paid more money (as will everybody else).

Having CHS and SCHS compete for coaching talent and athletic talent will be a good thing. (Of course, this assumes CHS and SCHS won't share one Athletic Director, to save money.)

We don't really have a dog in this fight since all our kids are adults but living within eye sight of Sage Creek we have to ask the question: Who are the people responsible for building an entire football stadium at a cost of ??? but not having a football team? We have watched the school being built for over 2 years and to be honest, have thought how fun it would be to enjoy some local hs football games. Now, after the article in yesterdays UT, we find out that there is no football team? This has to be the biggest waste of taxpayers money in recent memory.
