9-Year-Old Carlsbad Kid Wins 3rd National Running Championship

Maxwell Wilson is a 4th grader at Rancho Carrillo Elementary School who has fastest running time in the country and #1 ranking for his division in the 1500m event.

Maxwell Wilson is "just a regular kid who happens to run... A Lot," and a regular kid who happens to have his own website maxwellwilson.com.

Wilson is 9-years-old and recently won his third National Championship title this year. On Dec. 10 he competed in the USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Myrtle Beach, SC in the Bantam Boys 9-10 year old division.

His first place one mile time is an impressive 5:33!

Other impressive stats include running 400 miles at school in the 1st Grade and being personally recognized by the Mayor of Carlsbad in 2009 for placing 5th at the Junior Carlsbad Race.

His bucket list includes wanting to meet , buy and sell an item of EBAY and travel to Africa to meet the orphan cheetahs at CCF.
