Carlsbad's Kole Stevens Attempting to Win 'American Ninja Warrior'

Stevens in among 100 of the top competitors in the nation to run the "world's toughest obstacle course" for a chance to win $500,000.

American Ninja Warrior or ANW is a show on G4 and NBC. The show follows amazing athletes who attempt to complete a grueling obstacle course that uses tons of upper body strength, endurance and balance.

Out of thousands who try, only 100 will qualify to win $500,000 in a competition in Las Vegas.

Carlsbad's Kole Stevens earned a spot in the top 100 to compete in Vegas. The 37-year-old father of two is a Navy firearms instructor.

He and his family maintain an active lifestyle in Carlsbad. 

Stevens finished the Southwest regionals qualfying course in an impressive three minutes and seven seconds.

He's now training for Vegas where the course is even more challenging. In Ninja Warrior history, 2,700 people have tried to conquer the course, only three have made it.
