Digital Photo Workshops for Seniors

Mike McMahon’s popular digital photo two-hour workshops for seniors are listed below, falling on both Oct. 24 and Oct. 31. 

Oct. 24 Preserving Family Photos 9:30-11:30 a.m.

  • This workshop presents techniques for preserving precious family photos.  Topics covered include:  Scanning prints, slides, and negatives; using Photoshop for photo repair and restoration; and ideas for photo projects (photo collage, slide shows, videos and coffee-table books).

Oct. 24 More Fun with the iPad 1-3 p.m.

  • Learn how the wide variety of iPad apps can take business and pleasure time to the next level.  Look at ways to view and edit business documents on the iPad and learn how to share and sync documents with other computers and mobile devices.  The use of the iPad for capturing and editing video will be covered in addition to learning how the iPad can serve as a live-music recording device.  Don’t miss it.

 

Oct. 31 Photoshop Part 5 - Creating Projects 9:30-11:30 a.m.

  • Learn how to create fun and useful projects using Photoshop Elements 9, just in time for holiday gift projects.  Learn how to use the power of Photoshop Elements to create photo collages, photo calendars, a photo slide show and a coffee-table book.  Previous Photoshop classes are not required to attend.

Oct. 31 Introduction to Video 1-3 p.m.

  • The popularity of YouTube and low-cost video equipment has prompted an avalanche of video, so come and find out what it’s all about.  The class will review various video cameras (including cell phone cameras) and the new line-up of fun and easy-to-use video software.  See how easy it is to capture a video clip and upload it to “sharing” sites like YouTube and Facebook.

Each two-hour workshop requires advance registration.  Workshops are presented free of charge but a $5 donation is requested.
