San Diego Seeks Olympic Bid

A successful bid would bring the summer and paralympic games to San Diego in 11 years.

The following is from AOL ON

The county Board of Supervisors will consider a resolution Tuesday to back the efforts of a committee that’s exploring whether San Diego should bid for the 2024 Olympics. A successful bid would bring the summer and paralympic games to San Diego in 11 years.

Horrible idea! Financial burden nightmare! Check out the aftermath of other cities that have taken on hosting Olympics. It's not all glitter and big revenue after the closing ceremonies. Every venue has suffered in the post Olympic years.

M Clark's comment above is mostly true, but the Summer Games of '84 in Los Angeles produced a profit. What is your opinion of all of those Government Universities that produce worthless Bachelor Degrees via huge subsidies imposed on Taxpayers? Whether it's San Marcos, Berkeley, Davis, etc….you are certainly entitled now to use the phrase "every venue."
