Season of Firsts at Sage Creek High School

The school is the first in the Carlsbad Unified School District to have a field hockey team.

Carlsbad Unified’s first ever field hockey team is at Sage Creek High School. This enthusiastic new Bobcat team will inaugurate the beautiful new field on the Sage Creek campus.

Field Hockey is a Men’s and Women’s Olympic sport, popular worldwide but fairly new to the United States.  It is very similar to soccer in terms of plays, tactics, and positions, but, in field hockey the athletes also use a stick.

Analia Carlsson, Sage Creek’s talented field hockey coach, has been playing since she was seven years old.  She is from Argentina, where the National team is one of the leading field hockey teams in the world.  Ms. Carlsson played for the Torrey Pines High School field hockey team, which won the Division I CIF Championship her senior year. After graduating, she coached at Mt. Carmel, Torrey Pines and Canyon Crest Academy.
