World's Largest Inflatable Slide and More at Del Mar's ROC Race

The Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge (ROC) 5K is May 19 and 20.

Patch is going to have a team of four at this race. Anyone ages 13 and up can register.

Obstacles include:

  • The "World's Largest Inflatable Slide" – over 4 stories high.
  • A big firepole slide
  • Wrecking Ball - Maneuver your way across rotating balance beams while a crane with a (soft) wrecking ball tries to dump you into ice water.

According to the ROC race website, "The ROC race is all about the FUN! The goal is have the participants look back after the race and only be able to describe the obstacles as “RIDICULOUS”!

We took the challenges of a military obstacle course and combined it with the competitive game show themes from favorites like Wipeout, American Gladiators, Double Dare and MXC."

Registration fees go up April 13. They increase again after that on April 20 and May 4. You can register the day of the race.

To register and find pricing go to: https://cui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=2004601&mailingId=&recipientId=&style=active

While it is not mandatory to fundraise, the ROC Race is giving money to Challenged Athletes Foundation. Anyone who fundraises more than $250 is invited to a VIP party at ROC Fest hosted by NBA legend Bill Walton.

The race is at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and there is a $10 cost per car to park.
