Great LEGO Movie Experience! Jadon Sand Sings "Everything is Awesome!"

I was at the opening of The LEGO Movie Experience at LEGOLAND CA... Jadon Sand, with his awesome voice helped me out!

The LEGO Fans were out in force at LEGOLAND today.  I saw Mariann Asanuma who was a Master Builder at LEGOLAND, CA for many years and shares tips on her website http://www.modelbuildingsecrets.com/.  I saw Bruno who's got every LEGO toy ever made,  including the original wooden toys!  I saw Renate, a familiar face from the Clubhouse who has worked for LEGOLAND from before it was even LEGOLAND.  The park was packed with adults and yes, even the kids were there!  The line for the LEGO Movie Experience stretched around the corner and down the little hill.  The LEGO phenomenon continues...

I love LEGO bricks, and I spend a fair amount of time down at LEGOLAND, but I wasn't sure what to expect at the Media Event for The LEGO Movie Experience today.  I was escorted through a back gate, and past Miniland buildings being repaired.  I held back from snapping photos, as I didn't know if this constituted part of the media event (don't want to give away anyone else's secrets).  Anyway, we were walking pretty fast...

I met Emmet, Wyldstyle (Lucy) and in the flesh (as opposed to plastic and foam) Jadon Sand.  Unlike in the movie, Emmet and Wyldstyle didn't speak, although they did click their maxi-minifig hands together as they clapped and held hands.  Awww.

Jadon Sand however, so friendly, confident and poised, fielded our questions.  At the end of the interview, Jadon belted out the theme song of The LEGO Movie "Everything is Awesome".  What a great voice!    I tried a few lines of the song myself but, let's just say that it's not my day job.  Luckily for me, Jadon helped me to get my tune back on track.

Check out the videos, Jadon Sand, you are AWESOME!

The LEGO Movie Experience can be seen at LEGOLAND, CA daily.  Included are sets from the movie.  All parts for the movie were parts from kits in the past or present so, as one LEGOLAND employee informed me... Anyone can build these models.  They just have to have all the parts!  Right.

The set of over 3 million LEGO bricks was built at the LEGO offices in Enfield, Connecticut and shipped in boxes to Warner Bros Burbank offices.  The boxes were opened with apprehension upon arrival and not all the models made it intact.  Jingly sounds of LEGO bricks? Not a good sign!
