Carlsbad Beach Fest Announces CRAWL Beach Tri Challenge

On June 15, athletes will be able to compete in a Tri that includes a 1/4-mile ocean swim, run/obstacle sand course, and 1-mile paddle.

The Annual Carlsbad Beach Fest is back for it's sixth year on Saturday June 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers say this year the highlight will be the Carlsbad CRAWL Beach Tri.

The Carlsbad CRAWL Beach Tri challenges competitors in a 1/4-mile ocean swim to start, continuing on a run/obstacle sand course, and finishing with a 1-mile paddle. Anyone ages 12 years and up can compete. Registration is $45 online. For the paddle segment, individuals can choose to paddle standing up or lying down on their boards, and some boards will be available on a loan basis. CA State Lifeguards will ensure the event remains safe and fun for all to enjoy. The CRAWL will be professionally timed and winners awarded.

Other planned competitive sports include a 5K Beach Run/Walk, Pro & Amateur Surf Contest presented by SurfRide, a 1-Mile Ocean Swim, 6-Mile and 1-Mile Paddleboard Races, Beach Duathlons, and Zumba dance fitness on the sand to Latin and world music.
