Some Downtown Roads Closed Aug. 12 for Art in the Village

Streets scheduled to be closed from approximately 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. include State Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Christiansen Way and Grand Avenue between the railroad tracks and Roosevelt Street.

Several downtown roads will be closed Sunday, Aug. 12, to make way for , a community event featuring the works of painters, photographers, mixed media artists, glass blowers, jewelers and sculptors as well as art demonstrations, classes, live music and food. Streets scheduled to be closed from approximately 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. include:

  • State Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Christiansen Way
  • Grand Avenue between the railroad tracks and Roosevelt Street

 General and disabled parking spaces will be available on the streets surrounding the event. The 14th annual Art in the Village takes place at State Street and Grand Avenue, in the heart of the city’s downtown village, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is put on by the . 

Approximately 10,000 to 15,000 spectators are expected, which helps support the local economy and raise the city’s profile as a hub for arts and culture.
