Two holistic ways to fight off the flu naturally

While many are doing their best to protect themselves from the flu this season, they are also learning how marine-based supplements an help keep them healthy.

Recent reports are showing that flu activity is fanning across the nation.  Reports are indicating that flu numbers will climb well into March. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is following flu movement closely and shows that 47 states have reported widespread activity of influenza.

Two marine based supplements earning merit are shark liver oil and vitamin D.

These supplements can aid those who have not had the flu shot or be used as an adjunct immunity shield for those who have had the inoculation. In essence, these are ways to avoid the flu naturally.

“For centuries, people have used shark liver oil as an alternative nutritional supplement to help boost their immunity during seasonal illnesses,” said Nutrilys Del Mar’s spokesperson. “Our company records show that since 1995, more than 150,000 people in France, Switzerland and Belgium have used our shark liver oils supplements.”

Studies have also uncovered how vitamin D may offer a shield for the seasonal cold and flu. It’s been noted that those who avoid the sun or frequently apply heavy amounts of sunscreen, live in higher latitudes, and eat little or no seafood may have low levels of vitamin D.

“People who have an insufficient level of vitamin D may be more susceptible to the flu and seasonal colds,” the spokesperson said. She added, “A wonderful daily supplement to consider is a pure and natural source of vitamin D such as our soft gel vitamin D3 derived from wild Alaskan sockeye salmon oil.”

While influenza is sweeping the nation, here are some other protective helpful tips:

  • Wash your hands often with warm water and soap.  Wash your hands for at least 15 to 20 seconds
  • Keep pieces of paper towel on hand to turn off public faucets, press elevator buttons, doorknobs, gasoline nozzles, and other places people touch items
  • A gel sanitizer or sanitized hand wipes are great ways to get rid of germs
  • Refrain from touching your face

Although flu outbreaks are spreading through the states, many do have the power to take sanitary precautions while boosting their immunity naturally with shark liver oil and vitamin D supplements.
