According to Valin Brown, CEO of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation, this year’s Summer Academy and Summer Enrichment programs are great examples of the foundation’s goal to advance the cause of educational excellence. “For incoming and returning high school students, Summer Academy provides the perfect opportunity to accelerate their coursework at a convenient, familiar locale,” he says. “For our younger students, Summer Enrichment classes offer a great mix of fun and entertaining ways to engage them in learning. Together, these programs play a vital role in furthering our mission to fund high-quality educational programs.”

Popular Kids’ Care Program Helps Busy Parents this Summer

In addition to Summer Enrichment at Jefferson and Pacific Rim Elementary, CEF is offering a summertime extension of its popular Kids’ Care Program. With different weekly themes, this year’s program is called “Kids’ Care Discovery Zone” with students engaging in a wide variety of activities centered on science, technology, and math alongside of regular arts, crafts, and creative play.

Children can be enrolled in Kids’ Care alone or before or after Summer Enrichment classes, with care provided from 7:00 a.m. to 6:25 p.m. each weekday. Combining these two programs represents a great opportunity for working parents to let their kids enjoy a full-day program of fun and enrichment.
