Carlsbad Gives Back

So many people in Carlsbad took time to volunteer this holiday season, make donations and bring smiles to the faces of many. Here are some of the stories we ran on Carlsbad Patch.

The following businesses and organizations did toy drives for Toys for Tots, a program sponsored by the USMC to bring new toys to needy childing in the community:

The  provided 454 families with food and gifts for the holidays.

The collected more than 100 teddy bears for the The teddy bears provide comfort to children at Rady’s Children’s Hospital. 

Linda Allington, the emergency medical services manager from the , led a holiday food drive for the Military Outreach Ministry. Twenty-seven bags were recently filled with food and distributed to military families serving at Camp Pendleton. 

North County member of the Rock Church helped give out 66 bikes, 6,850 toy, 12,000 bags of groceries and 130,000 articles of clothing to needy families and kids in San Diego.

North Coast Calvary Chapel participated in , filling shoesboxes with items to be sent to needy children across the globe.

Volunteers with  are handing out thousands of roses Christmas Eve morning to local senior citizens in retirement homes.
