Red Ribbon Week Activities in Carlsbad

Red Ribbon Week kicks off Monday with local schools participating in fun events to promote a substance-free lifestyle.

The Champion Lancers will be at Calaveras Hills Elementary on Monday October 28th at lunch to present and work with students to sign the Peace Pledge.

The City of Carlsbad Recreation Department will be at Valley Middle School on Tuesday at lunch to play sports and team up against drugs for University Tuesday where all staff and students wear their favorite University shirt. 

Wednesday October 30th the Champion Lancers will be getting the morning started with Jefferson Elementary at 8:15 am, and will Go Wild on Wise Choices at lunch at AOE.

Thursday October 31st Poinsettia Elementary will be having their annual Halloween costume Parade and the Red Ribbon Week Decorate your door contest will be judged. Additionally all week the school will have events including obstacle courses to flash mobs to Mad Science activities and more.

Friday November 1st the Champion Lancers will be presenting to students at lunch during their Responsibility Character Trait assembly.

There are many other happenings going on across the district at each of our schools during the day as well as parents sessions in the evenings.

The community is also involved this year with numerous Carlsbad businesses offering discounts all week to anyone that wears their RRW wristband and comes into their establishment.
