Legends...that's what'SUP'

So I'm a single guy in my 20s, new to the North County San Diego area, and looking for something fun to do (that doesn't involve me going to another bar). Don't get me wrong, I'm a beer man...I love my beer...a lot! And it is starting to show! Yes ladies, guys care what we look like too! Anyways, I set out to look for something fun, healthy,...but most of all LOCAL.

I have always loved the water and dabbled in surfing just a little, so when my roommate's brother mentioned stand up paddle boarding I was a little intrigued. So first off, I had to check this local shop out in Carlsbad and see just exactly what I can do on standup paddleboards.

I stumbled into a normal, local looking surf shop, I'm sorry, SUP Surf shop...called (I dug the name...after all, I am legen...wait for it...DAIRY) I was actually super stoked the minute I walked in! All dudes, but they were super chill and were excited and eager to get me started. They worked out a crazy deal with me and even added in a demo and lessons for an amazing price. (and when I say amazing, I mean AMAZING...I'm still paying off school loans and probably will be forever so spending a mini fortune on a new past time was not something I could even consider). 

Whoever dissed on SUP, obviously has no idea what they are talking about. This is a workout! There are so many different aspects of SUP boarding...I mean there's Racing SUP, River SUP, Surf SUP, and Flatwater SUP. I started easy on flatwater, but man oh man...I'M HOOKED!!!! I'm determined to do 'em all. There's an upcoming race in South Lake Tahoe...yup...expect to see my (now muscular and tanned... eh hem ladies ;) ) body there ready to represent SUP San Diego!
