Sorry glenn, but there are no view rights. What is on city land belongs to all of us. Those ownersRead More had not right to cut down the trees, dead or not.

Scott, note that the last two words of my first sentence are "private properties." InRead More many neighborhoods, city personnel entered on PRIVATE PROPERTY, then planted trees just two feet from the roadway. The trees often have branches that span twenty feet. Nobody but government would perpetrate such a bonehead and hostile deed. (yes, these government trees get most of their trimming from passing trucks). Scott, it will rarely be reasonable to defend heavy-handed and/or corrupt governments.

Nevertheless, Scott might be prophetic. Based on today's politics in both Washington andRead More Sacramento, we might be just ten years away from having government ownership of ALL real estate…..and probably more.

Let's take care of the underprivileged here in America (not Mexico), then more Americans benefitRead More (not just the residents of the new homes): taxpayers who pay for the public services that support the underprivileged.

Well done, Kisco! Keep up the good work, and try to disregard all of the Madeleines of the world.

Depends on your opinion of Government. If you love big, expensive government, especially at theRead More local level, you will be happy and envious. If you dislike government, especially while flaunting cronyism (as in 'do you have inside connections?'), you will find this "news item" as either laughable or irritating.

The street is only one avenue (forgive the pun) to give to those who are needy. There are manyRead More others. Anecdotal evidence is nice, but far from comprehensive.

I am not trying to sound rude, but trying to clarify some questions. And w/ all thoseRead More "Nigerian" scams out there just trying to be careful. So is he here illegally? You mentioned the US promised visas to these guys, did they not deliver on that? B/c if he's not here w/ the proper paperwork how does one help out w/o jeopardizing their own business. Also working w/ sponsoring foreigners in the past there's usually a contract sign assisting w/ finances, (not a huge amount but some)is that not the case here? Again not trying to be rude just careful. My mother was also a foreigner who legally came to the states, and I only say that to clarify that there aren't any prejudice feelings here.
